Leather hard cover is worn on on back and edges.  A stain with a hole is present in the bottom front and the stain is also on the first few pages.  There is also a stain at the top of the first few pages.  (Water?)  The front and back covers have seperated themselves from the spine by 1mm, but nothing is falling apart.  The spine has raised portions with gold colored decorations.  There are other dark stains on the book cover.  Inside the inscrition reads, "E Libris G. Wingfield 1772." and another states, "ataftall in Lond. Aug, 1834."  And a third signature is present with "London" under it.  Several other markings in pencil are present on both the front and back inside.  No other marking or drawing in the book.  Pages are in great shape.  All intact, not torn or folded, no highlighting or writing, but they are somewhat discolored in areas.  No moldy smell.
