Pages clean except for an academic department's ink stamps on the outside edges of the page block, some spotting at edges and endpapers, and a prior owner's raised seal on the front free endpaper; the full red cloth cover shows bumps with inward turns at corners, softening at spine ends, and surface wear along spine sides and edges, but remains overall sound, with slightly dimmed gilt titles at the spine. xxii, 596pp. incl. index.
