About This Item

London: University of London Press, 1948. First edition. Hardback. Good/No jacket. 164 8vo. Subtitle: a Study in Boarding School Education. A signed and dated letter from the author is taped to the front paste down. A typescript foolscap note by W.H.Burston, with the heading The Public Schools, is laid in. Light blue cloth-covered boards, black titles to spine, black motif to front board, 111 pages. Condition notes: Boards rubbed and faded, spine darkened, previous owner's name etc to front free endpaper, dust spotting to external top edges of text block. The taping in of the author's letter is a mixed blessing, as it has made rather a mess of the paste down.

COVI-19 UPDATE: as Post Offices return to normal hours we can once again offer Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day as our Expedited Shipping option. We will continue to use a 3-day courier service for standard domestic deliveries. Delivery in the UK is typically within 3 days of collection from us (eg collected Wednesday, delivered Friday). The service is tracked but does not require a signature; you have the opportunity to record a safe place where your parcel can be left if you are not at home. We are still accepting orders for overseas posting but there continue to be delivery delays to countries outside the UK. Please bear this in mind when ordering; if you are in a hurry for your order PLEASE LET US KNOW so that we can discuss options.

We offer a 30 day return guarantee, with full refund including shipping costs for up to 30 days after delivery if an item arrives damaged or has been mis-described. For items returned for other reasons, we regret we cannot refund postage.
