Los Angeles, Grafton Publishing Company, 1912, first edition, first printing.. This slim hardcover, the Author's First Book, was issued without a dust jacket, Jeffers paid to have the book published in an edition of 500 copies, with the vast majority of those sold to a used book store, his authorial credit uses his full name (later shortened to just Robinson Jeffers). Very good minus with general soiling and age, Holmes Book Company of Los Angeles stamp to front free endpaper, the word "Apples" on the spine label is mostly obscured, the front cover label has tiny chipping around the edges, not affecting any of the text or the decoration.

Mexico: La Oficina de los Herederos del Lic. D. Joseph de Jauregui, 1794. 1794. Original edition, published in Mexico. Two parts bound in this one volume. NEAR FINE. A clean, tight copy in lovely tree-calf binding. Pages are fresh and unmarked, the paper supple and bright. First 8 leaves, last ~20 leaves and endpapers have small book worm channels at top outside corner (affecting only folios in last few leaves), also a very short channel to top margin of about 6 leaves at center of book. Pages otherwise fine. Leather cover is gilt titled on blue leather spine label. Cover is lightly worn, a few short, shallow worm channels on front cover but overall near fine. Binding tight and straight. A collection of over 900 poems by the Spanish Jesuit, Francisco Xavier Lozano. First edition of the author's first book, this being in un-noted binding variant in grey cloth, lettered in gold at the spine. Printed on Glastonbury watermarked paper by S.C.Jennings & Sons Ltd. Slim 8vo. 36pp. A touch of wear to two or three extremities. Some production fault creasing to two text leaves. A very good copy. No dust wrapper. Bloomfield (2002) notes: "White laid paper watermarked: 'I Batchelor & Sons Ltd | HAND MADE'. Copies are also found with paper watermarked: '[crown] | Glastonbury' and with mixtures of both. London: Elkin Mathews, 1913. First collected edition. 52, 64, [4] pp. Brown paper boards lettered in gold on the front cover and spine. Gallup notes that "not more than 500 copies issued." The book consists of first edition sheets of the two earlier books with a new half-title and title-leaf for the volume. Rebacked with original spine laid down, nick to top edge of rear board skillfully and professionally repaired. A scarce early Pound volume. Gallup A7b.

Internally very good subject to moderate browning and dustiness and a few small stains to the title page (couple mirrored on inside front cover) . Binding firm. Cover is somewhat shelfworn and a little scuffed with a small stain; the Claud Fraser design on the front cover is reasonably bright.

Inscriptions have been bleached from the half-title and title pages. The bump at top-edge of front board is stained black. Volume is also gently bumped at bottom-edge of rear board and at spine extremities. Clean text. Quite scarce in the dust jacket, which is sunned at spine and edgeworn with sporadic chips. Very good.

This verse drama deals with a family's quarrel over the naming of a son, Shenandoah Fish, which is obviously analogous Schwartz's name, about which he was quite sensitive. Inscribed to the poet Theodore Morrison. "Ted, from Delmore, October 1941." Illustrated by Frederico Castellon. Printed by George Hornby at The Domesday Press, New York City. 28 pp. 8vo., plain paper wrappers, wire saddle stitch. In a dark blue dust jacket, illustrated on the upper wrapper in grey-blue. Internally clean and fine; however, the dust jacket is sunned at perimeters and on the lower panel, with some light edgewear. Inscribed copies by Schwartz are uncommon, and this is a very good copy, inscribed by him.
