First Mariners Library printing. 157, [2 (advertisements)], [1 (blank)] pages + 35 illustrations on 12 plate leaves. 4 full page charts. Blue boards with dark blue lettering on spine, dark blue compass illustration on front board. Page dimensions: 182 x 122mm. "Houses are but badly built boats so firmly aground that you cannot think of moving them." - the opening sentence. Series: The Mariners Library, #38. .
