Description

Wolf Creek, OR: Nomenus, Inc. and the Nomenus Wolf Creek Sanctuary. Offered is the December 2002 issue of "The RadDish" (Vol. 11 Issue 10) published by Nomenus, Inc. and the Nomenus Wolf Creek Sanctuary out of Wolf Creek, Oregon. A left-stapled magazine measuring 8-1/2" by 11" and containing 16 pages including front and rear covers. Nomenus, Inc. was founded in 1984 as a spiritual, non-profit organization open to Radical Faerie-identified gay men. In 1987, Nomenus purchased the Magdalene Farm (a Maoist commune since the mid-1970s) and renamed it The Wolf Creek Sanctuary which spans 80 acres at Wolf Creek in southern Oregon. The Sanctuary, as Nomenus has written, "is a living project, an experiment exploring the nature of Radical Faerie spirituality and community" and hosts gatherings, workshops, rituals and circles throughout the year. With splendid front cover illustration, and containing committee reports and resource information, the contents include: Happenings on the Land by Deadly NightShade ("The past month's happenings have left me shaken to the core and I am at a loss of how to write about many of the goings on without feeling like I am gossiping, stirring-up-the-shit, betraying confidences or speaking for others inappropriately"); short The Garden Gate by Radical Randy ("Another season, another time around the Sun"); What I Did on Halloween by The Buzzard; A Return To Love by Lil' James ("I made a huge and horrible mistake. I struck someone I love"); and Thanks For All the Phish by Krown; Rumors by Ocean Agate ("The latter part of this year's visitor season has been nothing less than absolutely dramatic. One drama after another has consumed the community since the men's gathering"); Caretaker Proposals (submitted each by Jaddua, Deadly NightMare, and Wick; Once Upon A RadDish by Ariell ("Since I have been asked to tell my side of the story of what happened last summer by several people, I have decided to do so"); poetry by Ga; A Letter From Jokie. Mailing label and canceled postage stamp to rear cover. . Near Fine. Magazine. 1st Edition. 2002.
