My book is THE ORIGINAL - NOT THE REPRINT. Chicago A. C. McClurg & co 1909 FEP bears (1913) gift inscription signed geo. B. Armstrong. Hard cover FEP inscription signed geo B Armstrong. Geo B. Armstrong was founder of the US Railway Mail Service. But this must be the son Very good and fine for age No dust jacket. Condition is excellent for 1909 book. Boards a little less than clean. Inscription (1928) inside cover by L.G. Hardy Postmaster at South San Francisco First edition. vi p., 1 l., 48 p. front., plates, ports. 21 cm. Includes: Portraits, Plates. Historical provenance. Donated 1913 to Geo A Bromley by George B Armstrong, George Buchanan Armstrong is considered the founder of the U.S. Railway Mail Service. Frontis is portrait of George B. Armstrong. One of the plates is of a grave marker honoring Armstrong and his first railway postal car that ran from Chicago to Clinton. He died 1871 and so I assume the signature is that of George Armstrong junior. Then in 1928, "Presented to Mr. J. Fitzpatrick...by L. G Hardy, Postmaster at South SanFrancisco and signed by him. 5 portraits; 3 photos; Highly collectible. Very good. No dust jacket. Condition is excellent for 1909 book. Boards a little less than clean. Inscription (1928) inside cover by L.G. Hardy Postmaster at South San Francisco. FIRST EDITION. PUBLISHED 1909 BY McCLURG
