Kobenhavn - Copenhagen: J Fr. Clausens Forlag, 1970. 51 x 233 mm. Near Fine. Presentation copy from the father of Danish Studio Glass, Finn Lynggaard, to the British potter Harry Horlock-Stringer inscribed on the half title, 'Mr Harry Stringer with my warmest thanks for helpful cooperation Finn. G.' Blindstamp ' with Stringer's 'Library of HHS Taggs Yard' blind stamp above the inscription. A fine copy in slipcase. We have recently acquired the library of Harry Horlock Stringer who was a leading British potter at the old Fulham Pottery in the 1950s where he concentrated on earthenware. Later he moved to Taggs Yard in Barnes, south-west London, where he built and ran his own school, welcoming pupils and making friends from across the world including many leading potters and lay enthusiasts such as the actor Ginger Rogers. Stringer experimented with his own glazes and firing techniques, and wrote a book on Raku, becoming a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association, editing the association's journal for a time and exhibiting widely as well as lecturing at home and abroad.
