About This Item

Toronto / Sarasota: Samuel Stevens / Hakkert, 1977. 255 pp + errata page at rear, 4to (12 1/2" H). Profusely illustrated with b&w photographs, unit badges. "From a small beginning of fewer than two thousand, the Royal Canadian Air Force expanded to a magnificent force of over two hundred thousand in the Second World War. Their accomplishments in that war, and in the peacetime years that followed, are recorded here - the squadrons and their commanders, the squadron aces and squadron victories, the aircraft they flew and the bases they flew from. A narrative account of Canadian military aviation from its beginnings to 1968 provides a framework for the detailed presentation of squadron histories, with their wealth of information on badges, chronology, commanders, higher formations and squadron locations, representative aircraft and operational history. The 460 photographs of R.C.A.F. aircraft from its beginnings to 1968 show the actual aircraft flown by each squadron." Light browning to the edges of the text block - tiny foxig mark on the bottom, a few very faint finger marks on the boards, small bump at the top corner of the boards and at the top of the spine, light wear at the board corners and at the bottom of the spine. Dust jacket has very light browning, light edge wrinkling - mainly at the top/bottom of the spine and flap-folds, 3" crease at the top of the front panel and a 2" crease at the top of the rear panel.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good-/Very Good-.
