Biography of Douglas Bader, who lost both is legs in an air crash in 1931 & came back to become an ace fighter pilot in the Battle of Britain. Orig. published in Britain, this is the FIRST US EDITION, first printing, from 1954. The hardcover book has blue cloth-covered boards with slightly faded gilt lettering to spine, in312 pages, with black-and-white photos throughout. Condition is VG: very clean, binding straight & strong, pages off white with a whisper of tanning to edges; some spotting/light areas to spine, bumping at both ends of spine, slight rubbing to extremities. The DJ has the price intact, clipped at bottom (not bce), with slight edgewear, rubbing, light soil.
