London: Hurst and Blackett, 1883. Oxonian and Barrister John Cordy Jeaffreson (1831-1901) also wrote a controversial volume about the "real" Shelley. Here is a lovely set (2 volumes) of his debunking of the Byronic legend, an uncommon title. These are Very Good Plus to Near Fine copies of the First Edition. Clean text (mostly unopened); 376 pages and 370 pages, with 16 pages of publisher's adverts at the end of Volume II. Brown cloth binding with blindstamped ruling, gilt lettering on the spines. Mildly bumped, mildly rubbed at foot of spine. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/No Jacket.
