G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1924. First Edition. Hardcover. Acceptable. Red cloth boards, no dust jacket as printed. This is the first printing of this title, from 1924. The introduction written by James A. Woodburn. The boards are faded, dirty, scuffed, with dented and worn corner tips. Bottom of boards are scraped and shelf worn, as is the bottom of spine, which is dented and worn. Top of spine is also indented and worn, as are the edges of the spine. The gilt lettering on spine has faded and darkened. Text block is yellowed, stained, dirty at the top and scuffed. Front paste down and end paper has a good deal of writing/notes. Faint traces of a penciled price remain at the top edge of FFE. Back end page also has writing. Pages are yellowed, more significantly in the gutters and all around the edges of the leaves. They are slightly fragile. Binding is a bit loose, although the page block remains intact. Sections of the book tend to fall open more easily. Pages have various stains now and again, small in nature. Book is completely readable. 410 pps.
