London: Niccolo Publishing Company, 1970 Book. Illus. by Frontispiece Portrait. Good Plus to Very Good. Hardcover. First ( No Additional printings). 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Original black cloth on boards. DJ complete but short tears head and foot. A.A. Heaps (1888-1949) won a scholarship which he could not use because the family relied on him to work. At 13 he began to learn the upholstering trade, and 25 years later, as an MP, he recovered Laurier's office chair for Prime Minister MacKenzie King. In 1910 he moved to Winnipeg, where he took part in the General Strike of 1919. The author is the son of A.A. Heaps. No writing, but traces of dry mildew at head. No odour. 168 pp..
