See Howes 204, Streeter 1540, Sabin 24794, Coleman 3360, and Jillson RARE KENTUCKY BOOKS for that edition. Edited with an introduction by George R. Brooks. A series of letters to the Rev. James Flint, of Salem, Massachusetts, of which Letters 9 and 10, pp 54-79, are devoted to Kentucky, its Bluegrass region and Lexington of the period 1824-25. John Francis McDermott, who wrote the preface, calls this one of the most comprehensive and vivid travel narratives of the Mississippi Valley that have come down to us from Flint's generation..
