His imprisonment in 1881 also led to a long career as a Member of Parliament. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition. Green cloth binding with black lettering on the spine. Clean text; 518 pages, indexed, with a single page advertisement (for Justin McCarthy) in the rear. Mildly bumped; spine is rubbed head and foot and has darkened. An important source for the political events in Ireland in the late 19th-century. . First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
