[6], 261, [1] pp. Black cloth, red lettrng, red skeletons playing instruments on spine (scuffing, edgewear, light bumping to couple corners, very minor spotting to fore-edge margin of pp. 81-102), w/ d.j. cover art of dancing and partying skeletons by Martinot (minor edgewear, rubbing), still G-/VG copy. First edition, stated of this Bill Crane mystery, following on the heels of the very successful Dead Don’t Care (1938), in which the intrepid detective and able assistants Doc Williams and Ann Fortune attempt to solve the deaths at an industrial magnates home in the Chicago suburbs.
