New York: Cosmopolitan Book Corporation, 1929. First edition, as stated. Hardcover. Fair/No jacket. 338 pages. Called "A love letter to bourbonand Southern honor" by one critic, this story set in Kentucky is an anti-Prohibition tale. Red cloth binding with paper labels with red titles on front cover and spine, decorated end papers. Cover much spotted with some edge wear, corners and spine ends bumped, some chipping of title labels, hinges a little weak, back free end paper missing, interior pages lightly tanned but clean, text block tight. Measures 5 1/4 x 7 3/4 inches.
