Oxford University Press, 1939 1939. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG++/VG. 1st Edition, 1st Impression. 14.5 x 22.2 cm black cloth with gilt stamped titles to the spine. Top edge black, viii, (ii), 197 (3)pp, with original unclipped dust jacket with 7s 6d net price. The boards have been well protected by the dust jacket and are clean and bright with only a tiny bruise to the bottom corner of the front board. Internally the book is very good with only a strip of toning to the endpapers. There is a gift inscription to the novelist and television dramatist Rosemary Sissons on the front free endpaper and also her personal bookplate on the front pastedown. The unclipped dust jacket, whilst very good for its age, is somewhat toned, particularly on the spine and has some creasing along the top edge with associated chipping to a maximum of 3 mm in depth. There is also some small loss to the fore edge corners and a couple of small closed tears along the top edge, the longest being 1.5cm. All in all a lovely copy of this collection of literary essays that presents very well in its clear removable cover (not shown). Rosemary Sissons television credits include Upstairs, Downstairs; Follyfoot; The Irish R.M.; Elizabeth R; The Duchess of Duke Street; The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
