Plus 26 lithographs, 12 of which are tinted, on 16 plates facing tissue guards including a lithographed plan. Plus one folding lithograph map of Palestine with routes of travel neatly hand-coloured; and large, folding, tinted lithograph bird's-eye view of the Holy Land, both stained and repaired, some tears to folds. HARDCOVER, bound in recent full cloth; tear to one text leaf with loss; foxing to some plates as usual. Good, solid copy. ~ Revised edition. Translated from the German. Tobler, 183 (1853). The travelogue, reflections, and artistic impressions of Eduard Wilhelm Schulz, Vicar of the Reformed Church of Mulheim on the Ruhr. This copy includes his sermon on the book of Timothy, given in Jerusalem during his pilgrimage in 1851. It was translated from the German and published for the first by the Dutch publisher W. F. Stramrood, in 1854. At that time, the 24-page publication was sold separately at the price of 30 Florin Cents. This copy includes also the lithograph "Vogelperspectief van het Heilige Land" (Bird's-eye View of the Holy Land), printed by F. Böger and published by Stramrood together with a 16-page "Verklaring" (explanatory notes), and was sold separately for the price of one Florin. Both these additions are paginated here consecutively.
