New York: Boni and Liveright, 1923. First American edition. Faint offsetting to endsheets from dust jacket flaps; fine in a very lightly chipped dust jacket.. 8vo, 252pp; blue cloth with printed spine label. A polymath Austrian biologist who made a great splash in the scientific community with his work supposedly verifying Lamarck's notion of the genetic inheritance of acquired characteristics, Kammerer was undone by accusations that he had apparently faked his results to get the data he wanted.
