Description

London : Edward Moxon, 1862. Cloth. Good. 7" by 4.5". None. A first edition of this collection of Shelley's unpublished works, discovered by the noted English scholar and librarian. Garnett worked for the British Library, becoming superintendent of the Reading Room and eventually Keeper of Printed Books. It was during his time there that he discovered these previously unknown poems. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist. In the original cloth with gilt lettering to the spine. Externally with some wear to the extremities and to the head and tail of the spine. The spine is a little faded. The front hinge is very weak but the back strip is still attached. Internally, the first and last few pages are a little foxed. The contents page has come loose. The binding is starting to loosen in other places. Good
