First Edition.<br/><br/> "In the Thetis and Bear, Schley pushed vigorously northward, and on June 22 near Cape Sabine saved the seven survivors of Greely 's party at the very brink of death, and returned safely after 1300 miles of perilous ice navigation." Dictionary of American Biography, XVI, p. 438. Ex libris from the Dartmouth College Library with its deaccession stamp. Also with the bookplate that states, "Compliments of the Secretary of the Navy." Internally, a tight bright copy.<br/><br/>
