San Francisco: A. Roman & Co.. Good. 1863. First Edition. Hardcover. Rubbing to spine & joints; front joint starting lower half, but hinges tight; rubbing to edges; spot on the spine. Remnant of bookplate on second free endpaper; front end rear second free endpapers tanned, otherwise the prelims and text are clean. ; Ex- Pacific Union Club library with their bookplate on front pastedown, no other library treatments save small call numbers on verso of title page, one in pencil, one in pen. Former owners (doner? ) name, date in pencil on half-title. Bound in full Spanish calf, lettered in gilt, raised bands, marbled pastedowns and endpapers. Many of the clubs books were sent out for this binding. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 464 pages .
