About the author

Bennard Perlman is the retired Professor and Chair of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts at the Baltimore City Community College, and has lectured extensively on American art at such institutions as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Oxford University. He is the author of several books, including The Immortal Eight: American Painting from Eakins to the Armory Show and Robert Henri: His Life and Art.
