A previous owner's bookplate, signature and date (1907) on front pastedown; a previous owner's signature and date (1891) at top of title page; frontispiece tissue and title page have light browning; wrinkling to paper on inside rear hinge - also some splitting in paper but hinge is holding firmly; lean to spine; very light browning to pages; heavy browning to fore-edge and bottom of text block; heavy browning and dust darkening to top of text block; boards have light to moderate edge wear; wrinkling at top/bottom of spine; small bump at top corner of front boards; some loss of colour at bottom of spine - also a small area on front board and rear board at hinge; light soiling.
