Rising From The Plains by John McPhee - 1986

First edition hardcover with dust jacket, published by Farrar, Straus and Grioux, 1986. Part of John McPhee's series of books on Geology which also includes ; 'Assembling California', 'In Suspect Terrain', and 'Basin and Range'. In this volume, the focus is on a ranch in Wyoming, the Geologist who grew up on that ranch, and the geological history of the region. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. There is some age tanning to the edges of the dust jacket, both to the exterior and interior of the jacket. A couple of dots of foxing from age to the top edge of the text block. Dark tan colored cloth covered boards, sewn binding. FS&G has bound and printed the book with their usual high standards. The text is clean, the binding is tight and square. Boards are flat and the corners are not creased or bumped. This copy is not a remainder, not a library copy.
