An earnest, amusing letter by Robert Anderson, author of Tea and Sympathy, discussing his youth, his years at Exeter and Harvard, his thoughts on writing, etc. The letter reads in part: A year after Tea and Sympathy was produced on Broadway, Exeter asked me to come up and give a talk . . . This master and his wife had a small party . . . in the same house where I had been a proctor. Before I went in, I put my arm around Mrs. Thomas shoulders, and said, I hope this play hasnt caused you any embarrassment. She said . . . Nobody has been so kind as to suggest that I was the woman. . . .
