London: Printed and Sold by the Booksellers of London and Westminster, 1758. 1st Edition . Very Good. 8.75 x 10.75 inches (21.5 x 27 cm). Complete four volume set. Full speckled calf leather bindings. Spines have gilt ruled compartments, red morocco title labels, green morocco volume labels with gilt decoration. Volumes are labelled in the incorrect sequence. Heavy and uneven fading to boards. Slight loss to head of spine of Volume I. Board corners slightly worn. Slight cracking to joints and a few worm holes to spines (no worming to pages). Good solid bindings with all boards securely attached. Light foxing to endpapers and final few leaves in a couple of volumes. A few notes in light pencil, text is otherwise very clean throughout. Complete with Errata sheet at the end of each volume. Engraved bookplate to front pastedown endpaper in each volume (Thomas Beale). A nice solid example of the first English translation of the works of Dionysius of Halicarnassus. ESTC: T136671. Overall condition is Very Good.
