Written by Charles R. Gibson, an author of scientific works for children whose writings were extremely popular and prolific. Awarded to C. W. Adcock from Boston School, dated 1911. Bound by Bickers & Son, Leicester Square. With gilt detail to the spine and borders, the gilt crest of Boston School to the front board, and marbled edges and endpapers. An early edition; this work first appeared in 1908. With sixty-three illustrations throughout. In a full calf binding. Externally very smart; light rubbing to the head of the spine and extremities. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
