In the narrative, Clifford places himself and his companions on board a steam yacht. Together they sail all over the world, visiting a number of locales where the raw ingredients of perfumes can be found. Along the way they encounter a number of perils and dramatic challenges, all the time discussing the ingredients of perfume and home remedies. This unusual novel was issued in several editions into the 1880's. With Interesting Facts About Perfumes and Articles Used in the Toilet. Very modest wear to the extremities with contemporary owner's signature on blank leaf before frontispiece. Otherwise, a near fine copy.
