London: Collins Clear-Type Press 498 pp + publisher's catalogue, 16mo (6 1/8" H), thin burgundy leather over card covers/spine - gold lettering and decoration on spine, top edge gilt - in slipcase. Burgundy endpapers, sepiatone illustrations, including frontispiece. A semi-fictionalized account of the author's travels on the open roads of early-19th century Britain and the colourful characters who lived the vagabond life at that time - a sequel to "Lavengro". Previous owner's name, place and date (1930) in ink on rear of frontispiece; small newspaper clipping of a poem tipped-in on the front free endpaper; minor to light edge/corner wear; small light curl to top corner of pages; soft crease down half-title page; light browning to fore-edge and bottom of text block; very light browning to pages; large soft diagonal crease on pages 191 to 208; 1/2" foxing mark in margin of pages 234 to 238; seven words underlined in blue ink and a red pencil scribble with an 1/2" indentation on page 238 - indentation migrates into the adjacent illustration page and several preceding pages. Slipcase has light edge fading, light edge wear.. Full-Leather. Good+. Illus. by A.E. Jackson..
