N.p.: N.p., 1960. Three vintage borderless publicity photographs of Italian actress Rosanna Schiaffino, circa 1960s, including two double-weight and one single-weight. One particularly notable photograph shows Schiaffino stepping off of an airplane, receiving a bouquet of roses from a woman wearing a "Hollywood" sash, presumably taken circa 1962, when Schiaffino would begin appearing in American pictures. An actress and model, Schiaffino began her career in the post-neorealist Italian cinema of the 1950s. Billed in America as the "Italian Hedy Lamarr," Schiaffino appeared in several moderately successful Hollywood films, but ultimately found American cinema less fruitful than her Italian origins. She would eventually marry into money and retire from acting in the 1970s. One photograph 7.75 x 10.25 inches, one photograph 7.25 x 5 inches, and one photograph 4 x 6 inches. Near Fine.

N.p., 1950s. Very Good. Three original b/w photographs of Italian actress, Rosanna Schiaffino. Posed and snapshot images, including a leg-emphasizing roadside image, shadowy in a sunny hat, and receiving a large bouquet of flowers at the steps of an airplane. Two are double-weight, and two have brief pencil on the versos. From an archive of material crediting photographers or press agencies Angelo Frontoni, Giancolombo, Farabola, Federico Garolla, Rossell, Roma's Press Photo, O. Civirani. Schiaffino (1939-2009) was a magazine cover model, began acting after Neorealism cinema of the 1950s. Notable films: "Piece of the Sky" (1959), "La sfida" (1958), several peplums (gladiator). Originally billed as the "Italian Hedy Lamarr," marred into jet-set. Her interaction with the camera is palpable, and her experience in beauty pageants is reflected in carefully executed poses. Photos 4 x 5.75, 5 x 7, and 7.75 x 10.25 inches. Very Good Plus overall, light curling, faint toning.
