London: Innys et al, 1755. Leatherbound. Fair. Unpaginated. 21 cm. Engraved frontispiece. Ninth edition. Full leather with raised bands is scuffed and corners worn. Covers rolling back at spine. Ink signature of former owner from 1866 on front pastedown. Ink notes title page, rear endpaper, much ink spilled on text block edge. Small hole in front loose endpaper.

Abel Boyer (1667?-1729) was a French-English lexicographer, journalist and writer. This French-English dictionary includes an alphabetical list of common first names in translation as well as abbreviations of Christian names.
