Steinbeck and Capa tried of listening to talking heads about what was going on in Russian in the late 1940ies decided to take a trip and see for themselves just what was happening and reporting it to the average man on the street in America. Hitting not only the large cities and the things Stalin wanted them to see the visited many small towns and villages, talked to the workers in field and factory, discussed the state of the arts with the intellectuals and farming with the men on the land. This book is the result of that trip. Loaded with B&W photos, 220 pages.
