Fortunately, the French Army at Rome suppressed the irresponsible brigands led by Garibaldi, and the future, under benign French supervision, will restore tranquility to the peninsula. This copy is from the library of Nicholas Brown, Minister of the United States to Rome in 1848-50, whose sympathies were with Italian republicans. This is a very good or better copy with light edge wear on the jacket, and light shelf wear on the boards.
