This first documented history of San Elizario in the Spanish, Mexican, and American periods to 1900, utilizes Spanish and Mexican sources, particularly the Juarez Archive. San Elizario became El Paso's first county seat in 1850 and the records for the 1880s reveal the struggle of leadership as it faced the problems of incorporation, crime, taxes, schools, and an adequate water supply. A clean pristine copy.
