Hutchinson & Co., 1955. Hardcover. Acceptable/Good. 1955. No Edition Remarks. Unpaginated. Illustrated dust jacket over brown cloth with gilt lettering. Illustrated display box. Black and white illustrated and photographic plates. Light tanning to pages. Moderate and frequent cracking to gutters causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear. Spine has light sunning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Unclipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Minor tanning and scuffing overall. Display case is moderately scuffed and torn.

Publisher's hardback cloth in a pictorial p/c dust-wrapper designed by Richard Chopping. Very good in a used jacket, chipped to spine ends and extremities. A book of the arts, with contributions by Fred Bason, Laurence Whistler, Joan Hassall, Nancy Spain and others. Richard Chopping, illustrator of the striking dust-jacket, would soon leap to fame, producing the memorable artwork for Ian Fleming's James Bond series. This copy is from the comprehensive archive assembled by Jon Gilbert (pencil signature within).
