Adorable and fun color illustrations by Pan Georgiou. CONTENT: Sir George the Gallant is a dutiful knight. He has always dreamed of being the hero of Wintamere. Before long a large red beast begins frightening people in his village. King Albert calls upon Sir George and asks him to save Wintamere from the Scarlet Dragon. But when Sir George meets the dragon face-to-face, he realizes that the fearsome brute is not horrible as he expected. The dragon explains that the only reason she had gone into the village was that "so much of the forest had been cut down that it's the only place to get food." George makes friends with the dragon, introduces her to the villagers, and gets dubbed Hero of Wintamere. Both George and the dragon, dubbed Dame Scarlet, brave Defender of Wintamere, get their portraits hung in the Great Hall. The book is 24 pages and contains charming illustrations. The subtitle on some websites is "A Story with Moral Values." It teaches the value of making friends rather than fighting.
