James Halfpenny, Ph.D. was a field director and project coordinator for the Unversity of Colorado's Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research. He is the author of A Field Guide to Mammal Tracking in North America, Yellowstone Wolves: Watcher's Guide and Winter: an Ecological Handbook. He lives in Gardiner, Montana.
