Post World War II, did elements of instability and totalitarianism continue "to harass all levels of German life? " Author John Dornberg believe confusion caused Germany to behave schizophrenically, with elements of leniency toward ex-Nazis and neo-Nazis. German-born as the Reich came to power, Dornberg went with his parens to Denver, where he studied journalism. Returning to Germany in 1954 with the U.S. Army, he stayed after discharge as news editor of Overseas Weekly, American owned. While he never questioned the genuineness of West Germany's democracy, he did observe its facts and fables closely as society found its footing.
