London: John Lane 1896, 1st edition. (Hardcover) 205, [1]pp. plus 16pp. ads. Very good, no dust jacket. The Arcady Library. Engraved frontispiece, engraved title page, plus 4 plates. Decorated tan cloth with gilt decorated brown cloth spine. Head and foot of spine worn with some loss of material, corners lightly worn, light dampstain along lower half of fore-edge of front cover.Inner hinges cracked. 6- line previous owner's inscription on the front endpaper, plus 10 lines of text (on two pages) underlined and bracketed, all in ink. A rare copy of the author's second book. Also writes as Lord Tweedsmuir. Illustrations by D.Y. Cameron. (Fiction, Canadian).
