Black-and-white illustrated frontispiece, along with the black-and-white illustrations within the text have all been drawn by Drake Brookshaw. Red coloured cloth covered boards with black coloured titles to the back strip. Red coloured tint to the top text block edge. Coloured illustrated dustwrapper, again by Drake Brookshaw, with red and black coloured titles to the front panel and yellow and white coloured titles to the back strip. Black-and-white photograph of author to the rear panel. When the 'Perfect Child' (as touted by her mother), Arcady Jane Ferrier, becomes a pupil at Cliff Place, both school and Arcady have some major adjustments to do, and, ''... With the help of Lower For, and Stephen, the head girl, can Arcady improve and stop being the little humbug she is at times?'' -- from front fold over panel blurb. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges and rubbing of the book corners. Uniformed light panning of the text block edges and pages and there is scattered foxing to the text block edges and to the pages. Some handling marks to the front end page. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. A few small tears to the top and bottom edges. Foxing is quite noticeable to the rear panel. Size: 12mo (standard paperback).
