NY: D. Appleton and Company, 1880. Former owner's bookplate on fep, faded ink notation on second ffep, floral decorative end pages. Usual age and reading wear to textblock, else clean and tight. Brown top edge; Brown cloth, black stamped illustration on front cover and spine, with matching stamped illustration on back cover lacking the black coloring, gilt stamped lettering on front cover and spine, slightly rubbed tips, minimal bumping/fraying to corners as well as to the head and foot of spine. 575p., including appendix and index.. Decorative Cloth. Very Good. Illus. by Plates. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hardcover.
