Thomas Mann's famous essay on Schopenhauer. Schopenhauer's popularity in the 19th century was steadily declining into the 20th c. Mann aimed to bring back to the fore some of the great lessons of Schopenhauer's pessimism.
CONDITION: Very good in stiff wraps. Some edgewear and a former owner's name to top of front wrap. Some fading to interior end pages where wraps meet endpaper. Clean throughout.
