New York: Viking Press, 1969 Astrid Lindgren (1907-2002) was a Swedish children's book author, probably most familiar to readers as the author of the Pippi Longstockings series; she published her first nover in 1944. Seacrow Island was published in Sweden in 1964 by Raben & Sjogren, Stockholm; the sale volume from 1969 is the stated first American edition by Viking. Green cloth binding with black illustration on front board and black lettering on spine. Illustrations by Robert Hales. Binding is bright and clean with no problems other than minor fading and bumping at top of spine. Unclipped dust jacket is bright and clean but worn at extremities, especially at top and bottom of spine. Restorations have been made. 232 pages.
