London: Methuen & Co. Ltd, 1932. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. A. E. Taylor (endpaper map). 8vo. Pp. xiii, 273, followed by a few pages of the publisher's titles. Frontis. photo. Illustrated with 16 black-and-white photographs. Index. Endpaper maps. Bound in green cloth with gilt flourish stamped on front cover, gilt lettering on spine. Contemporary gift inscription on front free-endpaper (curiously dated 1931). Spine just a trifle dulled. Bookseller tag on rear pastedown ("Ireland and Allan, Ltd., Vancouver, BC"). As a Daily Express reporter, 1923, Morton entered the realm of the gods and history when he covered Howard Carter's opening of King Tut's Tomb. His reputation claimed, he embarked on a supporting career writing well-regarded travelogues, including the "In Search of ... " series, of which this is one.
