Poems.Presentation copy from the author, inscribed by him on the front free endpaper: ''For Alan best wishes this time second time round from Ted - 19 August 1989''. The reference is to the fact that pasted above the inscription is a slip of paper signed by Hughes who has also inscribed the half-title page, ''[Season Songs] from Ted Hughes''. The recipient is his friend Alan Hancox, the antiquarian bookseller who directed the Cheltenham Literature Festival during the 1980's. Under his guidance it grew sevenfold. Loosely inserted: an original black-and-white photograph of Ted Hughes at a drinks event; prospectus for Keith Sagar's bibliography of Hughes.Fine in fine dustwrapper with a design by Leonard Baskin.
