About the author

Steve General has been a Teacher, Principal, and Director of Education in First Nation Education for many years. He is a supporter of Children's Rights, Animals, and the Environment. He loves the outdoors and is a fishing trout expert. He has caught many different species of fish but the most unusual thing he ever caught while fishing was a Parrot. That sounds like a fish story but it is not. When he couldn't find the owner he kept the Parrot, renamed "Fred," for many years before releasing him to live the rest of his life in an aviary surrounded by female parrots. Lucky guy! He resides in Southern Ontario, Canada, and misses his wonderful dog of 16 years, big old "Grizz."
