UsedAcceptable. Undated, but a later hardcover reprint - likely c. 1900-1920, and still a Cassell & Co. printing. A scarce title, written by the son of Nathaniel Hawthorne. This copy has black pictorial boards, no DJ. 246 pp., with 16 pp. of ads - ads on back cover as well. Top 2 in. of spine jacket cracked with webbing showing beneath - fragile, but still intact. Heavy fraying and shelfwear throughout. Spine cracked, all pages intact. Previous owner's bookplate on front endpaper. Noticeable staining to endpapers and flyleaves. Page edges yellowed, text clean and unmarked. Overall fair reading copy of a rarely-seen title.
