[light shelfwear to bottom edge, very slight fraying to bottom front corner, one-time owner's inked address and phone number (no name) on ffep; jacket has tiny tears and minor paper loss at several corners, still quite presentable]. Suspense novel with a horse-racing background. Mankiewicz wrote extensively for television drama from the 1950s into the 1980s, but had only a handful of feature film credits. (Nobody ever picked this one up for the movies.) .
